Coveting the doughnut

Years ago a coworker whom I barely knew, placed their Tim Hortons doughnut, which was in a small paper bag, down on the staff countertop.

I was in a spaced out mood or something and without meaning to, I reached down, took the doughnut out if the bag, lifted it to my nose and sniffed it.

I looked up to see my coworker looking back with shock on their face and he said "are you coveting my doughnut?"
